Friends & Family: Illinois Holocaust Museum Tour
Special Event for Members, Family and Friends
Saturday, February 2 – Tour of the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center
(recommended for ages 12 and up)
Please join fellow IWF members, their families and guests for a special tour of the Illinois Holocaust Museum. After a special welcome, we will have a private tour of the Museum’s Women of the Holocaust exhibit led by our member and Museum docent Ann Hoenig. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Museum’s multi-million dollar Take a Stand Center Theater, which features ground-breaking technology. The experience is interactive, using 3D holography and recordings of Holocaust survivors, who are digitally shown on stage to discuss their experiences and answer questions from the audience using voice recognition technology in a simulated conversation. It was named one of the 12 must-see fall 2018 exhibits around the world by Smithsonian magazine and is not to be missed.
The museum is located at 9603 Woods Drive, Skokie. Please plan to arrive at 9:45 for a 10 am program start. Tickets are $15 and spots are limited. A Wait List will be created once capacity is reached. You must register to be placed on the Wait List; we will do our best to accommodate all interested members. Please register by January 15!
